I am excited to be hooking up with my friend Jen from Photojenic Photography (http://www.photojenic-photography.com/ to host a “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” night! We will be getting together here at the store on Friday February 8th between 5pm and 8pm and offering you a fabulous opportunity to create a special gift for your Valentine…or anyone else in your life!
You will receive your personal photo shoot with Jen which will include your photos on CD plus a couple of prints. As well, you will receive a unique wooden frame plus pre-selected papers and embellishments with which to create your unique valentine gift. The photos and CD will be available for pickup in the store on Feb.12th. You can take your frame and supplies home on the Friday night so you can get started! Or you are welcome to put it together in the store after you pickup your CD.
This is going to be a great event and there will be special savings throughout the store for participants only! This fun night is going to be a blast and spaces are sure to fill up fast! So stop by or call me at the store (613-965-0952) to sign up for a time slot! The cost for the package is only $45.00 which must be paid to book a time slot.

Our winter retreat has come and gone, and we had a fabulous time!!!! The weather even co-operated (for the most part) and driving to and from the event was uneventful for all! We enjoyed a fun-filled weekend, in a cozy warm hall, with lots of yummy snacks and meals (well, with the exception of the roast beef dinner), lots of prizes and shopping fun! Based on the feedback from the surveys, everyone had a great time and look forward to returning for another retreat! Watch for more information coming soon on our spring retreat being held in April! And I am also hoping to post a few pictures from the retreat, once I figure out how!!

We have received the entries for our January Page Challenge! We have 5 great layouts on display in the store! Now we need YOUR help! Come in and help us choose the “Fan Favourite” for the month! One vote per person please! The winner of our page layout challenge will receive a $20.00 Scrapbooks and Smiles Gift Certificate. And, to sweeten the deal, everyone who voted for the “winner” will get their name entered into a draw for a $5.00 Gift Certificate! So come on in and cast your vote!!!! Winners will be announced on February 1st! I will be preparing our February Layout Challenge Kits this week and will post here when they are ready to go!

Just a quick note today to let you know we will be closing one hour early this Friday the 25th at 4:30pm. The store will be open as usual Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
For those of you who are entered into our January “Get Scrappin” Layout Challenge, I will extend the deadline to submit your pages until Saturday at 4pm. I am looking forward to seeing the great work you have all done! Voting will begin Monday for the “Fan’s Favourite”!

Wow, talk about snow! It has been coming down almost all day now! As pretty as it looks on the trees in my backyards, I still don’t care much for it:) But I am glad nature is getting it out of its system now instead of this weekend! We are off to our winter retreat this coming Friday until Sunday. We have several groups of scrapbookers joining us from the GTA as well as the Kingston area, so hopefully it will be good driving weather for all by then! I want to send a big thanks out to my friend Jen at Photojenic Photography for her help in getting me started blogging! I have been following her blog for some time and she convinced me that even “I” could make a go of this! She even came by the store on Friday and got me all set up! Those of you who have seen our family Christmas pictures this year, well, this is gal who took those fabulous shots! She is wild and crazy and so friendly and easy to work with! She makes you feel like you’ve known each other for years! We are working on doing some promotions together in the coming weeks! Stay tuned! I have finally caved in and joined the world of blogging! It seems like all the hip, celebrity scrappers are blogging so why not me?! Ali Edwards, Becky Higgins, Lisa Bearnson, and Scrapbooks and Smiles! Yep, we’re in good company I do say!!!!
Welcome to Scrapbooks and Smiles blog! I promise to do my best to update the blog at least a couple times a week! Mostly store stuff….cuz that’s what you want to read right….?? Like what new products have just arrived, what’s on sale, what classes are running this week, when’s the next Scrap N Yap…that kind of stuff! Maybe I will even figure out how to post some pictures, and layouts and other fun stuff!
